AFP DC, Washington D.C. Metro Area Chapter: Advanced Executives: Expansive Advancement: Beyond fundraising to strategic, organization-wide roles

Nancy Withbroe, CFRE, Vice President, Philanthropic Engagement and Chief of Staff, Greater Washington Community Foundation and Kimberly Churches, CFRE, CEO, American Association of University Women will share how they have developed their skills to embrace expanded responsibilities beyond fundraising. They will discuss strategic planning, communications, board governance, media and crisis relations, financial leadership, and more. Both have become trusted advisors for organization-wide problem-solving, strategy and positioning.

Kimberly and Nancy will facilitate a discussion about broadening our thinking about our roles, advancing our own careers as well as the fundraising profession. During the session, they will discuss how together we can develop an increasing number of talented fundraisers who have the skills needed to have the broadest and most strategic impact possible on the organizations they serve. The session will draw upon current research into trends regarding the changing nature of the chief development officer role at leading institutions.
