The Center for Nonprofit Advancement includes members from throughout the Greater Washington area's nonprofit community. The Center provides AFP-DC with meeting space and AFP-DC members serve as faculty to many of the Center's workshops on fundraising. The Center has been a co-convener of National Capital Philanthropy Day since 2002.
- Direct Marketing Association of Washington (www.dmaw.org)
AFP-DC and Direct Marketing Association of Washington successfully launched the Bridge to Integrated Marketing and Fundraising Conference in 2006, working together to bring a wide variety of educational sessions in fundraising and direct marketing together for over 1,100 busy professionals. The subsequent Bridge Conferences built on this success, attracting nearly 1,700 fundraisers, direct marketers, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers. A committee of volunteers begins working nearly a year in advance to plan this first-rate conference. AFP/DC and DMAW continue to work in partnership on this annual conference for the benefit of our members and colleagues throughout the region and beyond. - National Capital Philanthropy Day Co-Conveners:
Each year, AFP/DC invites select local and regional organizations and associations as well as national groups directly serving constituencies in the greater D.C. area to serve as co-conveners for this signature event, which celebrates philanthropy in the region. The following co-convening organizations were supporting NCPD in 2014: Association Foundation Group, Center for Nonprofit Advancement, The Foundation Center, the United Way of the National Capital Area, Volunteers of America and the Greater Washington Board of Trade. The Foundation Center's mission is to strengthen the nonprofit sector by advancing knowledge about U.S. philanthropy. Established in 1956, the Foundation Center is the nation's leading authority on philanthropy, connecting nonprofits and the grantmakers supporting them to tools they can use and information they can trust. The Center maintains the most comprehensive database on U.S. grantmakers and their grants. It also operates research, education, and training programs designed to advance philanthropy at every level. The Center operates a regional library in downtown Washington and cooperating collections throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area that offer access to many online and print resources. Many cooperating collections are open on evenings and weekends; visit the web site for exact locations. AFP/DC partners with the DC library to offer networking receptions and joint programming. AFP/DC's president serves on the Foundation Center's DC Advisory Board.

The National Capital Gift Planning Council is a not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to advancing and promoting charitable gift planning. They offer educational programming that enhances professional development, provide opportunities for networking, and promote cooperation among the many professional disciplines that are involved in the charitable gift planning process. Their monthly meetings provide educational programming and opportunities for networking in the Washington DC metropolitan area. NCGPC's members represent a cross section of disciplines including those who work for not-for profit organizations, firms that support planned giving efforts of these organizations, and other allied professionals. AFP/DC partners with NCGPC to offer occasional joint programming on gift planning.
